Who can join?
Women, young adults aged 19–34, people from Black, Asian and minority ethnic communities, and anyone unemployed or changing careers. If you can commit to a workshop, you have a place — cost and confidence should not decide who gets a turn.
Do I need experience?
No. Our workshops are designed for beginners. We start from the basics and build from there, and most of the session is supervised practice rather than theory.
Is Phoenix Academy a charity?
No — we are a Community Interest Company (CIC), registered in England & Wales (No. 17394085). A CIC is a limited company that exists to benefit the community rather than shareholders, so any surplus is reinvested in our mission instead of paid out as profit. We're not a registered charity, which is why we can't claim Gift Aid on donations.
How is my donation used?
On the four things that make a workshop possible: training equipment and practical resources, materials for learners, venue and workshop space, and outreach so more people know we exist. We publish exactly what each donation funds once our real costs are confirmed, rather than guessing with a draft budget.
Can my organisation take part?
Yes. We work with local employers and referral organisations so trained learners have a route into work or self-employment. Use the contact form and pick 'Partner' — we'll come back with what a first step could look like.
